We all know that Twitter has been suspended in Nigeria due to Twitter deleting tweets and videos of President Muhammadu Buhari making threats of punishment to a sect called IPOB in the South-Eastern part of the country after he blamed them for attacks on government buildings.
Since Twitter has been suspended in the country, users in Nigeria can’t access Twitter with any SIM card at all. However, you can access Twitter with the use of a VPN, but why use VPN when you can still access Twitter with ease like before? The only thing I know I am good at is showing people how to do the easiest things there is out there.
I have made a video tutorial for those who won’t get the text version of this tutorial. Well, that being said, let’s dive into today’s tutorial.
How to access Twitter in Nigeria without using a VPN
Go to your Phone’s Settings > Mobile Networks (Select the SIM you use for browsing) > Access point names > Tap the APN currently in use > Fill in the following:
- Proxy: 205.134.191.237
- Port: 80
Leave every other thing untouched and save the new settings. Now, head on back to Twitter, and start using the app like before without any VPN.
As far as I know, this trick works for all major networks in Nigeria so you don’t need to bother about it being network selective.
That’s all there is to know about how you can access Twitter in Nigeria without using a VPN guys, if you’re not following us on Twitter, kindly do so.
