It’s so unfortunate to see many MTN customers complain about MTN’s data plans and even as we tried telling people about the 200MB for N50 plan valid for 14 days, some MTN customers turned out to be unable to purchase the data. For those of you who don’t know about this plan, you can learn how to activate it from this video.
That aside, there is another 14-day data plan that costs just N500 and it rewards an MTN user with 2GB data. It is possible to activate 2.5GB data for N500 on MTN but that plan is valid for only 2 days, the plan is only great for emergency downloads. There is a similar plan on MTN that can offer you 2GB for N500 and just like the one aforementioned above, it is only valid for 2 days.
There are lots of cheap data plans on MTN, they are not as cheap as the 200MB for N50 plan but they are affordable, one last one I would advise you to check is their newly-added plan for Pulse users, you can find out about it from here.
How to activate 2GB for N500 on MTN
This plan might be based on eligibility so I will advise you not to purchase airtime before trying this out. With your MTN SIM card, dial ∗131∗65∗4#. When the pop-up notification shows, select 1 and another menu would come up, select any that suits you, if you are eligible to purchase the data, you will see a message like this;
Y’ello! Activation of WelcomeBack 2GB Bi-Weekly failed due to insufficient balance. Dial *904# to recharge from your bank account OR *606# to borrow airtime.
When you see a message like that, recharge the SIM card with at least N500 airtime, and re-follow the procedures given earlier. What do you think about this plan, is it ideal for you?
