Netflix Smart Downloads is a feature that helps saves more storage and time of downloading and deleting the former series on Netflix. This feature was introduced to the Android version in last year’s summer, July, and since then, it has been a big bonus to many Netflix subscribers.
How Netflix Smart Downloads work
This feature helps you as a Netflix subscriber and a user, download new episodes as soon as you are done with the former. This means that, if you have downloaded episodes 1, 2, and 3 of a show, and you finish watching episode 1, the Netflix app will automatically delete episode 1 and download episode 4.
During the Android launch of the Netflix Smart Downloads, Johnson said in a statement, “We also want to emphasize that giving consumers more control over their entertainment experience is at the heart of everything we do”.
As at now, the Smart Downloads feature is available to all Android and iOS users, tablets & computers running on Windows 10.
Note: This feature only turns on when you’re connected to Wi-Fi
How to activate Netflix Smart Downloads
Fortunately for us, Netflix has made this feature to be easy to activate. All you have to do is toggle the Smart Downloads on from the app. This can be done by following just these three easy steps;
- Tap on the Downloads icon.
- From the top of the My Downloads section, select Smart Downloads.
- Use the toggle to turn Smart Downloads on or off.
