How to get 3GB free data on Airtel from Airtel TV app

by Johnson Daniel

It’s interesting to see how we are currently getting free data from Airtel as many would see it as an unlikely source to get free data from this period. We are still enjoying the 1GB free data that Airtel is giving to us just for downloading My Airtel app, in case you’ve not gotten your very own 1GB data, I advise you to check out this post – How to get 1GB free data on Airtel from My Airtel app.

Just to let you know, Airtel is also giving out 3GB data for free using their TV app as a medium to do so. Airtel TV is an app that allows users watch and stream thousands of popular movies, TV series, documentaries, sports events, skits, kids, music videos, gospel music and more from Nollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood right from a smartphone. This TV app offers unlimited access to the best video-on-demand (VOD) content from around the world.

There are popular channels on Airtel TV, you have Al Jazeera, Bloomberg Television, Trace (Urban, Africa, Mziki, Tropical, Gospel and Sport Stars), Gametoon, Fashion Box, Bollywood, Nautical, God TV, and Inspiration TV among others. Now that you can get free 3GB data from Airtel TV, I think the number of downloads for the app should surely increase. airtel TV new logo

Unlike for the 1GB data that Airtel is still giving out, our iOS users can fully enjoy from this offer too and for this to work for you, you need to follow the procedures in the article carefully so please do so.

How to get 3GB free data on Airtel from Airtel TV app

  • Download Airtel for either your Android (31 MB) or iOS device (112.2 MB), install and launch the app (Ensure that the phone that has Airtel TV app has the Airtel SIM card inserted in it)
  • You would be asked to sign up with your Airtel phone number, enter the Airtel phone number, wait for the OTP code to arrive on your SMS box and it will auto-verify by itself given that the Airtel SIM card is in the device you’re registering with.
  • After it verifies, you will be logged into the Airtel TV app now wait for some hours and your SIM card would be credited with 3GB data.photo5787609547261719538

The data is valid for 6 days and you can check your data balance by dialling *140#. Unfortunately for us, you can only use the 3GB data to stream movies on Airtel TV app, it’s not that bad though as you get to enjoy lots of movies on the app for free as long as the 3GB data has not been exhausted.

I can’t ensure that you would be lucky to get this data just like that of the 1GB data so try this early to get yours. Some people get their data earlier than others, so don’t panic if you don’t receive yours early.

Some members on our Telegram channel have already received theirs as this was brought to my attention by a member of our Telegram group. Do not forget to share this information with your friends, sharing is caring!

Now the problem is after watching for some live TV channels on the Airtel TV app, I discovered that they are also deducting from my own Data plan and also deducting from the free 3GB data

Johnson Daniel April 27, 2020 - 9:54 am

This is why it’s advisable to use it when you don’t have any data
