The dark mode feature has spread throughout the technology world and the new users are Instagram users. The Facebook-owned platform has finally introduced the dark mode feature after carrying out a series of tests, this is just coming weeks after Apple introduced this dark mode feature in iOS devices through iOS 13 update.
Instagram said the dark mode feature will automatically work for Android users on Android 10 and iPhone users on iOS 13, though users will need to enable the system-wide dark mode from their phone’s settings.
You won’t need to update your OS to Android 10 if your device runs a custom skin as it supports dark mode naturally. Examples of such device include Samsung’s One UI, Xiaomi’s MIUI, and others.
How to use Instagram dark mode
You need to update your Instagram app to the latest version on the Google Play or Apple store. Since Instagram did not provide an option for users to toggle the dark mode on/off within the app, you should be able to use the dark mode by following these given steps.
- Go to your phone’s settings and enable system-wide dark mode.
- Launch your Instagram app and enjoy the new Dark Mode.
