MTN Season of Surprises is an annual end of year event by MTN Nigeria in commemoration of the Christmas season. The Season of Surprises will see as many MTN customers enjoy lots of freebies ranging from internet data to Android phones.

This year’s Season of Surprises reward campaign will run for 8 days – 17, December till 24, December 2021. Regarding how this campaign would work, the telecommunication company disclosed that this year’s edition will be a digital version via the myMTN Next Gen app & USSD respectively.

This time around, MTN customers are the ones doing the giving instead of MTN rewarding customers. Many MTN customers would have the opportunity to give and receive different gift items without having to perform any chargeable activity. These gift items include free data, Jumia shopping vouchers to purchase curated festive hampers, and mobile devices courtesy of MTN, Coca-Cola, Golden Penny, Maggi, and Tecno.

How it works

Subscribers will have the option to refer a loved one to receive gifts via the new MyMTN NG app or USSD channel (*135#).

Using MyMTN NG 

• Download the new MyMTN NG from Apple Store or Google Play Store.
• Login to your account using any of the available options and click on the Y’ello Santa banner Button and put in your loved one’s MTN number, and a gift will be sent to your loved one while stock lasts.

Using USSD

• Dial *135#, follow the prompt and put in your loved one’s MTN number
• A gift will be sent to your loved one while stock lasts.

The referred customer would be able to receive one of the following gifts:

• 1GB data bundle valid for 7days
• Jumia shopping vouchers to purchase curated festive hampers
• Tecno Camon 18
• Tecno Spark 8P

Unfortunately, you can only refer one recipient through the entire Season of Surprises give-away and, the system will select the gift to be given to each recipient (that is, the customer that refers will not be able to select a particular gift to be given).

How customers can redeem gifts

• Phones:  Winners of the Phone gift will receive a phone call from 180, and it will be sent to the MTN Shop closest to their preferred location.
• Data:  Customers who receive the free 1GB Data will have it automatically configured to their phone lines.
• Jumia: Customers who receive the Jumia voucher code to redeem the curated Festive hamper should visit www.jumia.com.ng, sign-up or login. Then select the item tagged ”MTN Y’ello Santa Festive hamper”, add the item to their cart and input their code at the point of payment. Please note that payment is not required for these hampers, all that is needed is the voucher code received from their loved one courtesy MTN. Winners of the curated MTN Festive hampers redeemed on the Jumia website do not need to pay a delivery fee for their hampers, as it comes with free delivery.  The voucher codes are valid for 2 months only.
