Opera Shake and Win is back! More than N100,000 in prizes up for grabs

The Opera Shake and Win promo is back, allowing users to win amazing prizes such as smartphones, airtime, and cash vouchers. The company behind the popular data-saving Opera Mini browser, which has more than 100 million African users, has launched its “Shake and Win” campaign. Over N100,000 in prizes are up for grabs in this contest honouring football’s grandest celebration, the World Cup.

How to participate in Opera Shake and Win

To begin with, this promotion is only available to residents of Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa. To get started, interested parties will need to download or update the Opera Mini browser on their smartphones.

Following this, tap the Opera icon in the bottom right corner, Shake & Win, Enter, and try your luck. OR, if you see a “hand holding a phone” sign, click on it and follow the steps again. Every contestant receives a couple of shakes daily, with additional shakes earned by completing missions.

Furthermore, only one registration per person or registered cellular number will be accepted. Multiple registrations from the same person or cellular number will result in disqualification from the Shake and Win contest and forfeiture of any prizes awarded as a result of participation in the contest.

How to get more shakes

Since there is a 4-hour interval between each shake, some users may not be able to wait another four(4) hours to participate in the shake and win the contest. Opera has you covered by allowing you to earn more shakes, but you must first complete some tasks. These are the tasks:

• Make Opera Mini default: Setting Opera Mini as your default browser earns you one free shake. Within 24 hours, you will receive your free shake.
• Refer Opera Mini to a friend: You get a free shake for every friend who plays Shake & Win with Opera Mini and a verified phone number. It will be granted within 24 hours of completing the mission.
• Play Opera Predictor: Playing Opera’s football predictor game entitles you to a free shake. Correctly predict the outcomes to win $10,000.

Things to note about the prizes

The prizes to be won are airtime by popular providers (including MTN, Safaricom, Airtel, AirtelTigo and many more), cash prizes and brand-new phones. Prizes may vary depending on the country within which the contestant is located. All prizes awarded must be claimed on or before 15 January 2023, failing to claim your prize before this deadline date will be deemed to have expired and will no longer be available for redemption.

Where a contestant has won either a car or a smartphone the following shall be applicable:

• Contestants will be liable for the costs incurred in collecting the prizes from the designated fulfilment centres;
• Contestants must produce a legally accepted form of identification (ID or Passport) when attending a fulfilment centre to collect their prize/s;
• If a contestant’s registered details do not match those on their form of identification, Opera reserves the right to withhold the prize/s until the contestant has satisfied Opera that s/he is the correct recipient of the prize/s.
