Pyypl: Get a free international MasterCard to use worldwide

by Johnson Daniel

If you live in Nigeria, you should be aware that international transactions on Naira Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards (MasterCards and Visa cards) are no longer possible because banks have suspended international transactions on Naira cards.

Most Nigerian banks announced a $20 spending limit on international transactions using Naira debit cards in March of last year. This was due to a long-standing lack of foreign currency and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s strict capital outflow regime.

Standard Chartered Bank announced in July that international transactions on its naira visa debit card had been suspended.

First Bank also announced in September that international transactions on its naira Mastercard virtual card and visa prepaid naira card would be suspended effective September 30.

Zenith Bank has joined the list of Nigerian banks that have suspended international naira card transactions. Zenith Bank has announced that its customers will no longer be able to conduct international transactions using their naira Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards beginning January 9, 2023. This comes just a week after GTBank made the same announcement, which went into effect on January 1.

With all of this going on, we need an alternative that allows us to conduct international transactions from the comfort of our own homes. This is where Pyypl comes into play.

What is Pyypl?

Pyypl (pronounced “people”) is a non-bank digital app that allows users to create an internationally accepted prepaid Mastercard (virtual and physical), as well as a digital wallet that can be used to conduct transactions anywhere in the world.
