TikTok to stream FIFA 22 World Cup in 4K for free

by Johnson Daniel

The world’s largest football competition is set to begin in Qatar in a few days, and TikTok (also known as Douyin in China) has something in store for its users. The company announced that it would offer free live streaming of the famous football World Cup on its platform, but only in China.

TikTok, China’s popular short video-sharing platform, will cover the entire 28-day event and provide free live broadcasts of all games in Ultra HD (4K) resolution quality. Simply searching for “World Cup” will take users to a special dedicated page where they can watch World Cup games.

TikTok will offer some features in addition to streaming FIFA games to make the viewing experience more interactive. This includes the ability for users to invite friends to chat while watching a game. The app will provide this by establishing a live broadcast room. Remember that this free 4K stream is only available through the China Douyin app. That is, it will not be available on the TikTok app, which is available worldwide. As of now, this is the only information available on the subject, so stay tuned for more information on global availability.
