WhatsApp is testing voice status updates on iOS Beta

WhatsApp is currently working on bringing the ability to share voice notes to your ‘status’ updates. According to WABetaInfo, the feature was discovered in the iOS beta update. We can see a screenshot of the feature’s interface in the report.WhatsApp is testing voice status updates on iOS Beta

This image shows that the popular messaging app is working on allowing users to post voice statuses up to 30 seconds long on its app. Other users will be able to see these voice statuses by clicking the microphone icon in the bottom right corner, just like they would in an individual or group chat.

The status section typically displays videos and images uploaded by users. So this would be a new type of interaction. As of now, the beta build is only available to users who have enrolled in the beta program. Typically, Status updates remain on the user’s ‘status’ for 24 hours, so we can expect

This feature was first discovered in the Android beta app version 2.22.21.5. Similarly, the social media behemoth is working on several features that are currently in the works. Unfortunately, we have no idea when this feature will be available in the live build. So stay tuned for more information on this subject.
