WhatsApp is expected to add lots of features to its social messaging app and one currently under testing is the ability to show a profile picture in the notifications when a new message arrives. This report is coming from the latest WhatsApp update, v2.22.1.1 on iOS.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been released to some beta testers only on iOS 15 since it uses iOS 15 APIs. With the functionality, some of the issues are expected as the feature is in public beta and not the final version.
Twitter already shows the profile picture of a person who sends a message or replies to a tweet, so, WhatsApp is set to do something similar. This new feature won’t be rolling out to all beta users immediately, as the rollout will be the gradual type.
Recall that WhatsApp has been testing lots of features since last year, these features include a revamped Contact Info page, a new community function where group admins will have more control over groups and a whole lot more. There is no telling when these features would make their way to the social messaging app, when they do, we will surely try to update you. Asides from the aforementioned features are also bringing a new section called ‘Businesses Nearby.’
