As devices and software are constantly changing, WhatsApp reviews and updates the operating systems it supports regularly.
Every year, like other technology companies, look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest number of people still using them to decide what to stop supporting. These devices may also lack the most recent security updates or lack the functionality needed to run WhatsApp.
The WhatsApp messaging platform is constantly updated to ensure that it performs its functions to the best of its ability for users. As this app receives new updates, some devices become incompatible with it. WhatsApp will stop working on at least 49 devices after December 31, 2022.
