WhatsApp will discontinue support for many Android devices and models on December 31, 2023. It means that all models that do not support the app by December 31st will be unable to send messages, photos, or watch videos from friends.
Since October 24, 2023, Android models running version 4.0.4 or earlier, and iPhone models running iOS 11 or earlier, have been incompatible with WhatsApp. To stay current, we are constantly working to update the list of devices that can run WhatsApp. Following this year, the following devices will no longer be compatible with WhatsApp:
